MVSc MRCVS ECVS Resident Laparoscopy Endoscopy Thoracic

A career built on surgical precision

Carolina Neumann graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Vienna, with distinction, before undertaking a rotating internship at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, University of Edinburgh. She subsequently completed a surgical residency under the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) framework at the Royal Veterinary College, London, where she developed particular expertise in minimally invasive and thoracic surgery.

During her residency, Carolina received specialist training from internationally recognised surgeons in advanced laparoscopic technique, thoracoscopy and flexible endoscopy. She has since operated across multiple university referral centres and specialist small animal practices in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands, accumulating over 1,200 surgical procedures as primary surgeon.

Following completion of her residency training, Carolina established herself as a freelance surgical consultant with the aim of bringing specialist surgery closer to primary care. She is a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS), holds an MVSc in Small Animal Surgery and is an active member of the British Veterinary Surgical Association (BVSA) and Veterinary Endoscopy Society of Europe (VESE).

Carolina is committed to continuing professional development, regularly attending international surgical conferences and hands-on laparoscopy workshops. She is available to give CPD lectures and live surgical demonstrations at referring practices on request.

What referring vets say

Feedback from veterinary professionals who have worked with Carolina.

"We have used Carolina for laparoscopic procedures on several occasions now and the experience has been seamless every time. She communicates brilliantly with both the team and the owners, and the post-operative reports are exemplary — exactly what we need to continue care confidently."

Dr Rebecca Baxter BVM&S MRCVS
Head of Surgery, Willowmere Veterinary Group

"Carolina performed a thoracoscopic pericardectomy on a golden retriever referred from us — a case we were genuinely nervous about. Her calm, methodical approach and the quality of the outcome were exceptional. The dog was home within 36 hours. We wouldn't hesitate to use her again."

Dr Samuel Morton BVetMed MRCVS
Director, Fernfield Veterinary Practice

"Having a specialist who comes to us rather than asking clients to travel has transformed our referral offering. Carolina integrates with our nursing team effortlessly and the standard of surgery is simply outstanding. Our clients trust us more because we can trust her."

Dr Laura Chen BSc BVSc MRCVS
Clinical Director, Ashfield Veterinary Centre
